A passionate, extraverted story teller.
Leveraging years of experience I lead product design and user experience initiatives utilizing best practices for usability, intuitive functionality, and of course visual elegance. I use design thinking strategies to help influence business and product decisions with insightful research, and tactfully delivering assets and solutions. In order to build the greatest products you have to solve the hardest problems, or what I like to call, "slaying dragons." It playfully arrived in casual conversation years ago when a friend said, "Kasey's over there slaying dragons and sh*t." It just stuck. The saying is the manifesto of my design process, creative banter and extroverted nature.
'Slaying Dragons' is my mantra. It describes my design journey of conquering the problems of the digital and real world. I solve problems not with a sword - but a fine tuned, adaptive, and creative design process. But also sometimes with a sword.
As you may know dragons are mythic creatures of power and resilience. They represent the problems we face everyday in life and for me, design. They are part of everyone's life book, appear in each chapter, and need to faced head on. In this chapter I've found myself in Washington, DC assimiliating into the rich and creative tech culture. I've been very lucky so far. I'm surrounded by amazing people, opportunities and dragons around every corner.
When I'm not fending off beasts during my 9-5, I like to stay busy with freelance client work, design challenges, and running the 1000+ member creative fellowship, District Creatives. It is of paramount importance to stay on top of industry trends, tune and refine skills, and explore new problems. I believe the next chapter of my journey will be creating visual experiences inside virtual realities and helping lay the path of empathetic and artificial intelligence...
